Bodhi Anderson

Bodhi Anderson

Bodhi is a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as Combat Medic for the Marine Corps and went on to become a Commissioned Medical Officer. By day, Bodhi is a farmer but by night he is a physician assistant and medical director for a team of medical providers who work virtually all across the US.

Sixth generation kama'aina, he follows his great-grandfather's legacy farming on the Hamakua Coast.

Bodhi’s interest in eating locally sourced food came from reading Micheal Pollan’s The Omnivore’s Dilemma. Then after reading Folk’s This Ain’t Normal, by Joel Salatin Bodhi developed a passion for Regenerative Agriculture. Always learning, and striving for the best life of his animals, soil, and community’s health–Bodhi is committed to bringing the best locally raised meat delivered to your door.

Brittany Anderson

Brittany Anderson

Brittany always dreamed of living out in the country. Growing up in the Garden State, New Jersey, she has fond memories of picking tomatoes from the garden and fields of sweet corn blowing in the wind. Moving to Hawaii, she took her passion for country living, entrepreneurial spirit, and love of good food to create the first direct-to-consumer local produce distribution service.

Sourcing only the best local produce for her clients, she found it difficult to find high-quality, local, ethically raised meats with great flavor. So, Bodhi and Brittany did what anyone else would do… they purchased land and became farmers.

Brittany has developed an affinity for butchery, and enjoys hand cutting steaks and hand crafting sausages. She takes the time to learn from experienced kupuna, and attends workshops to continue honing the art of butchery.

Always striving to deliver the best locally grown meat to your table, and the story behind it, Brittany publishes in the Sugar Hill Farmstead Blog, and her food column can be found in Ke Ola Magazine.
